His name is Murrundinidi. He is a direct descendant of the last traditional Chief of Melbourne's Wurundjeri tribe. A member of the Wurundjeri and a direct descendant of Be-be-jern, Nurungaeta (King) of the Wurundjeri who signed the 1835 treaty with John Batman.

"We are different colours but we are all one people and so I dance in honour of us all.
My heart's desire is to share my Aboriginal culture with all people who have a heart to listen"

As a native Australian historian Murrundinidi will entertain your group with traditional dance, stories and didgeridoo playing. As an indigenous educator and dancer he will add a truly memorable highlight to your conference. He has worked with a wide variety of people and has returned from Europe where he conducted spiritual workshops and shared his cultural knowledge, his humour and his heart with many. He will hold the interest and enthusiasm of groups of all sizes.

Your group will experience first hand:

  • traditional dancing, music and language
  • explore the history and use of traditional artefacts
  • learn about life on Coranderk and hear stories from the 1840s to the 1900s
  • enjoy the magic of the bush

"Murrundinidi is an excellent and positive communicator. His entertaining and educative performance together with his genuine warmth engendered not only excitement but more importantly an appreciation and need for valued understanding and friendship. I recommend Murrundindi for his outstanding performance skills and wonderful presence"
