"Australia has many bizarre animals, and the platypus might just top the list. These shy animals are difficult to see in the wild, but if you have the right guide you will be rewarded", wrote Lynn Gunning.

Add a fascinating break to your conference day by paddling down the Goulburn River. Take a refreshing break on the river with an experienced guide to spot one of Australia's more unusual residents. This river trip on the Goulburn River offers a unique opportunity to experience the platypus. These monotremes (egg laying Mammal) are shy and secretive in their natural environment, though still often seen in their natural habitat during daylight by observant paddlers. Ever alert for signs of danger, they submerge to the safety of their underwater playground, only to re-emerge some 3 or 4 minutes later.

Book a 1½ hour paddle on the Goulburn River. Make your conference memorable. It's a great break during the day or quirky end to an intense conferencing day.

14 days advance booking required. The Platypus has a timid demeanour, viewings cannot be guaranteed. Price on application - this is variable depending on group size. Minimum 12 people. Allow approx. 2½ hours. Subject to seasonal conditions.
