DeBortoli Winery
De Bortoli vineyards produce many varieties including Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Petit Verdot and Zinfandel.
The Winery
The original Yarra Valley planting of 10 hectares, established in 1971, has now increased to more than 130 hectares, making the vineyard one of the largest in the region. The winery has been upgraded recently and this year crushed over 3,500 tonnes.
Marginally warmer than Burgundy but cooler than Bordeaux, the Yarra Valley is where cool climate viticulture and dedicated winemaking have created some of the best wines in the country. The De Bortoli Yarra Valley Winery produces some of the finest red and white table wines available, and markets these wines under the GS Reserve, Melba, Yarra Valley, Gulf Station and Windy Peak labels.
The Restaurant
Positioned in the middle of the De Bortoli property, the restaurant has stunning views of the vineyards, landscaped gardens and surrounding hills. With a northern Italian theme in both decor and food, the restaurant offers you quite a unique venue in which the philosophy of great wine, food and friends comes together in one magnificent expression.
The De Bortoli Winery Restaurant is one of the Yarra Valley's premier wine and food attractions and amongst Victoria's most popular and highly awarded restaurants - with 6 American Express Awards for Best regional restaurant, 2 Victorian Tourism Awards for Best Tourist Restaurant, and an Australian Tourism award for Best Tourism Restaurant in 1995.
